Akash Patel, a recent volunteer at our Livingstone project in Zambia, is holding a fundraising event with a difference next week and would like your support.
On February 2nd, Akash, one of the foremost rising sitar players in the UK, will be hosting an uplifting evening of music and supper. Along with his friend, tabla player Saleel Tambe, Akash promises to entertain you 'musically and soulfully' with a unique sitar and tabla recital to raise funds for ALERT.

As a solo artist, Akash has performed internationally in Spain and India, as well as in prestigious venues in the United Kingdom. Having won an award at the 2010 Croydon Music Festival, his musical career has since gone from strength to strength. Saleel is also a successful musician, playing in reputable concerts as both a soloist and accompanist. His tabla playing has been recorded for CD, DVD and film.
The event is to be held in Akash’s hometown of Sutton in Surrey, South East England. It starts at 6pm and a vegetarian meal will be served during the interval. A suggested donation of £20 per person is requested. Bookings are to be made by January 29th for catering purposes.
If you are able to attend this event or support Akash's fundraising efforts, please email Ilesh and Mayuri Patel at: firstname.lastname@example.org for further details. You can also visit Akash’s JustGiving fundraising page to make a donation.
