A helping hand for healthcare
May 1 2014

Medical volunteers at Antelope Park get the opportunity to observe and assist at different clinics in Gweru.  Lene Olberg from Norway recently visited Mtapa Polyclinic; one of the smaller clinics in the city, where she handed over medical supplies that had been donated by volunteers.  The Sister-in-Charge was delighted to accept the supplies.  She told Lene how much the staff  truly appreciate all of the donations they receive from Antelope Park medical volunteers which help the clinic continue to offer medical care to over 3,600 patients every month.

This is what Lene had to say about her time at Mtapa Polyclinic:

I went to Mtapa Clinic.  When I came there I was met by the Sister-in-Charge and handed her some medical donations for the clinic.  After that, I went to the pharmacy department to help count pills into bags.  When the nurses had a break they invited me to join them for tea, they were so nice and welcoming.  It is a very small clinic.  It was a nice day with a lot of nice people.’

If you would like to join Antelope Park as a medical volunteer, you can find out more details here.  To assist Mtapa Polyclinic in its work, please visit our Sponsor a Clinic page.  Your support is greatly appreciated.
