The children of Monde Primary School in Victoria Falls have said goodbye to late mornings and lazy days and are instead welcoming an exciting term full of new grades, new teachers and new learning opportunities.
Because of their enthusiasm, the term has got off to a good start, with the children excited to be back in school and already hard at work. As usual, Antelope Park community volunteers are on hand to assist the class teachers and to help ensure that this is a busy, but enjoyable school year.
Many thanks go to a past volunteer, Karla from Scotland, who wrote an article about the project in her local paper. We have since received some donated stationery from readers who wish to support Monde Primary School. Both children and teachers were very grateful to receive this gift.
2014 has also started on a very positive note for gardeners from the Chinotimba garden project in Victoria Falls. Having worked hard alongside community volunteers throughout last year, we are proud to announce that the gardeners will now be responsible for supplying vegetables to the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, which will also be used at the popular Boma cultural experience restaurant. What an exciting way to start the year.
