The importance of exercise and the benefits of leading an active lifestyle cannot be over emphasised to young people. That is why the students of Maunga Kids Club in Livingstone were given a lesson on being fit and healthy during last weekend’s lesson. They learned that without regular exercise, they could become overweight; leading to health problems particularly in later life. It was important for them to understand that exercise isn’t just something that takes place in a gym that can be expensive to join. Also that it doesn’t have to take very long; three to four times a week, for 10 to 15 minutes is enough to keep them fit. At the end of the session, the children were encouraged to run round their village to get their bodies moving and burn off excess calories. It certainly looked as if they were finding keeping fit fun. Keep up the good work!
