Lion Encounter Zambia has hosted another school from Livingstone with children from Nakatindi Primary School visiting for an educational tour accompanied by their teachers and headmaster.
Project volunteers were on the ground to welcome the visitors and once all the children were settled Yan and Jacelyn, volunteers from Singapore, conducted the lesson. Topics included why lions are important, what is causing the reduction in their population and what can be done to help ease this decline. After that, the children played a game about lions and impala, which they loved so much and giggled the whole way through. Then it was time for the main event; a visit to see the lions. Following a safety talk by head lion handler Kennedy, both the children and teachers were fascinated to spend time with the King of Beasts and were happy to have enjoyed such an interesting day at the project.
