The Hopeful Life Preschool and Children's Centre in Gweru, Zimbabwe is a humanitarian not-for-profit organisation. Its vision is to help facilitate positive changes in the lives of the city’s disadvantaged widows and orphans; thereby helping them to enjoy a sense of well-being.
The Centre, established in 2011, started out with 11 orphans. By the end of the first year, its numbers had increased to 20. Since then, Hopeful Life has helped over 60 orphans and young vulnerable children, providing them with education, food, clothing, sport, entertainments and transport.
In the Centre's recent newsletter, Antelope Park was praised for the support it offers to Hopeful Life. The article reads:
‘Antelope Park has been there for us since 2011, faithfully helping and supporting us in various amazing ways. It helped us with school electricals- the fridge and stove, also helped us to start our chicken project. It also intervened in getting a wheel chair for Tanatswa who has cerebral palsy, clothes for children, stationery, the list is endless and whole lot of things they have done for us.
We also would love to thank Antelope Park for taking good care of us when we went with the children for the various trips to that area, it’s amazing we love it, the kids have everlasting memories of the visits to your beautiful Park. Thank you for the way you treat us and we feel at home whenever we are there.
Most of all thank you for your amazing gift you gave us when the kids had the opportunity to have a free trip, you are not only a Park, nor organisation but you are a source of people’s happiness, joy and love - you are a blessing. We really thank you for everything. Words just cannot describe the depth of our gratitude, thank you.
The staff and the volunteers are amazing. From the deepest part of our hearts we would love to thank you for what you do to us at Hopeful Life, the community and Gweru at large, you are truly amazing. May the almighty bless you in all you do. Mrs Alice Shiri.’
