A visit to the drop-in centre of the Midlands Children’s Hope Centre was made extra special as two of Antelope Park’s Italian volunteers, Marco and Emanuelle decided to cook some Italian cuisine for the street kids. This proved to be very exciting for them as they had never eaten Italian cooking before.
Marco and Emanuelle wanted to do that ‘extra something’ for the kids as this was their last visit to the drop-in center before they left to go back to Italy. They prepared carbonara (made with pasta, bacon, eggs and cheese) and frittata (made with ham and cheese, resembling an omelet).
Together with their fellow volunteers a delicious and scrumptious meal was prepared for the street kids to eat and enjoy!
Whilst the lunch was being prepared volunteers carried out a variety of activities with the street kids, such as Math and English lessons, kid’s learning activity sheets and making a variety of intricate bracelets.
Thank you to all of the volunteers for going that extra mile to create memorable meals and moments that will last a lifetime, for the street kids of the drop-in center.
