Volunteers are making good progress
August 26 2014

Painting continues at Monde Primary School in Victoria Falls, where Lion Encounter community volunteers are working hard to improve the learning environment for the children.  When school re-opens, the classrooms will be looking much brighter to welcome students back after the holidays.

The Head Teacher at the School is very pleased with the results so far: ‘We at Monde Primary are very happy with what the volunteers have done for us.  The school is looking better and the classes are looking very nice.  If it was not for the input and hard work of these volunteers, our school would not be looking wonderful like this.  They have helped our school children as well by teaching them a lot and we have seen improvements in the children.  We would like to say thank you for coming to volunteer at Monde Primary School.’

Along with the Victoria Falls community garden projects, volunteers have also been exercising their green fingers working in the vegetable garden at the local old people’s home.  The new seedlings are growing well, adding to the crops that are already well established.  This means that the elderly residents are now able to be self-sufficient and don’t need to purchase any vegetables elsewhere.  The development of the vegetable garden will help to improve their diet and also provide an income from the sale of any excess produce.

If you would like to assist with our community projects, you can join us as a volunteer.
