Watching the garden grow
July 22 2013

The workers at Dako and Chinotimba gardens in Victoria Falls are beginning to see the results of all their efforts, with the beds full of healthy-looking produce.  These crops are important to the gardeners as a way of generating much-needed income, as well as improving nutrition for themselves and their families, so to see good progress being made is rewarding and a big boost to morale.

There’s more pleasing news for gardeners from Dako.  Work on the new on-site toilet is now complete, with plans currently underway to build a second convenience at the location.  With no available facilities, workers were previously forced to walk back to their villages each time they needed to use a toilet.  Now working in the garden will be a more comfortable experience and the project members won’t have their work disrupted.
