Dendi & Damara kill a wildebeest

The 2Ds of Dendi & Damara left their enclosure early morning for their usual walk.  Soon after the sisters were out on an open plain when a bachelor herd of six wildebeest were spotted ahead.  The lions flanked left and right and began their stalk towards the herd.  Dendi got to within 10 metres before launching her attack, quickly jumping on and pulling down an adult male.  Damara who had also launched an attack jumped on a different wildebeest and started to drag it down.  Being the lighter of the pair her attempts at a second huge meal were in vain and after a struggle the wildebeest was able to break free from her clutches and makie its escape.

Meanwhile Dendi locked her catch in a throat hold to subdue it before finishing the animal off with a mouth grip.  This is the first kill the pair has made, but they have shown that their instincts are in place and fully functional.  They can only go from strength to strength from this point.
