Joyce la Virtue climbs higher to support ALERT
April 21 2012

"I successfully reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro! It was an amazing trip but much harder than I thought it would be. I was with a group of 14 people, and they were such a great group, that forming new friendships more than outweigh the discomfort of the long days of trekking, sleeping in tents and the sub-zero temperatures. Summit day started at mid-night and was the hardest challenge of my life. There were plenty of tears of joy and relief when I finally reached the summit just before 9am.

But the most rewarding part was that I raised just over £650 for ALERT, beating my target of £500. A big thank you to all my family and friends who supported and sponsored me. I could not have done this without them."

Everyone at ALERT would like to express our huge thanks to Joyce for efforts to help secure a future for the African lion.
