Thanks to several generous donations towards renovations for Monde School in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, on Friday 28th June our project team and several volunteer attended the school to hand over the first consignment of new desks.
The kids have been very crowded in classes using broken furniture, and this negatively affects their writing and concentration. These donations have allowed us to provide the school with some new desks, with more on the way. We look forward to seeing great improvements.
Before and After
The school had also requested burglar bars for the school admin block. With no security the school had lost several important educational assets and teachers were resorting to taking home school resources, such as computers, every day to keep them safe. With the installation of window bars and gates on doors the staff can feel comfortable knowing that education resources such as computers and text books are secure to be used for the purpose they are intended.
The balance of the donations given will pay for further new furniture for the classrooms, will pay the school fees for some of the most needy children to attend the school, and purchase new exercise books.
A huge thank you goes to Mark Orme and Zachary Schmeising for their generosity in supporting this school.
