Penya sets her sights high
August 3 2012

Penya and Paza were stalking Giraffe today! Further proving that their recent wildebeest kill was just the start. Penya is developing into quite the huntress.

Penya

Penya noticed the giraffe as Paza was more interested with relaxing. Despite her step sister's lazy mood Penya was undeterred by the sheer size of the giraffe and stalked through the long grass.  The giraffe had spotted the approaching lioness but did not seem fazed. Penya got very close during the stalk and as she broke into a chase the giraffe started to run away. Penya broke into full sprint as the giraffe seemingly accelerated in slow motion and left the sprinting lioness behind. The chase was over soon after it started and Penya returned to us very proud after her latest hunting experience. Paza continued to lay down and looked at Penya as if to say what happened? The two P`s are now stalking much more after their first kill. They have had success and now want more!

Giraffe are of course way too big for this lioness to tackle, although readers will recall Leya achieving two giraffe kills during her pre-release training in Livingstone.
