Soccer stars in clean up operation
October 17 2012

The Zambezi Lions family with the ALERT and Lion Encounter Zimbabwe team gathered up during the weekend in a move to undertake a cleanup operation and promote sound environmental practice. The cleaning procession involved picking up litter from a shopping centre within the Chinotimba suburb of Victoria Falls, and along the main road linking this suburb to town. The area covered also included the clinic which services this suburb. The initiative was very much welcome by the community and some of the local people joined the Lions in their bid to clean up the environment. In the afternoon the senior team played their league game against Hwange Prisons which won 3:2, making them one of the most successful teams in the region.
