We support three gardens within the Monde community in Victoria Falls which are designated to people living with HIV and AIDS. These people are identified by the Headmen and are allocated a piece of land in which to grow crops. We assist in the preparation of the land and help with the planting of seeds, providing seedlings and chemicals for insects, however the water wells are located far away from the plots (some 2km away) and water is carried by hand in buckets. This is very inefficient in the dry season. We managed to run a pipeline directly from one of the wells to a reservoir that we built next to the crops making watering properly possible and ensuring better growth, that in turn will provide a more nutritional diet for those living with the disease.
